Service and Instrumentation Engineer Full-time

Due to continued business growth CEM Solutions are recruiting an additional service engineer to join our team. We are a service-focused business, passionate about providing excellent customer service and customer satisfaction in the servicing and calibration of process & control and emissions monitoring systems.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, diligent individual with a background and positive track record in Control and Instrumentation. Some experience working with Continuous Emissions Monitoring systems would be an advantage but not essential for the right candidate.

Position Summary

You must be driven by wanting to deliver the best possible customer service experience, regardless of the task in-hand. You are an excellent communicator, able to engage clearly and confidently with both customers and colleagues. You can follow procedures but also act on initiative, investigating and diagnosing faults and supporting colleagues where appropriate. You will be traveling throughout the length and breadth of the UK, with occasional nights away, whilst also working at times from our head office in Derbyshire.  

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Primarily responsible for routine service/calibration and maintenance of equipment on site
  • Repair/fault investigation of instrumentation on a variety of applications, both on-site and in-house
  • Scheduling / arranging service visits with customers and preparing / sending RAMS to site
  • Working closely to strict procedures and adhering to H&S requirements 
  • Contributing towards our ethos of continuous improvement with ideas and suggestions 
  • Completing all necessary work reports / calibration certificates and updating internal system logs as required 
  • Promoting the business – looking for potential sales and opportunities 
  • Acting on initiative, advising customers and employer of issues and opportunities

Sales/Service Administrator
Part-time / Salary dependant on experience

CEM Solutions are recruiting a Sales/Service Administrator to join the team at our base at Molyneux Business Park Darley Dale, nr. Matlock. We manufacture bespoke emissions monitoring systems for a variety of industrial processes as well as working on sites across the UK to service, repair and install CEM instruments.

We need an excellent communicator with a keen eye for detail who is looking for a role which offers variety and flexibility, working with team members from across the company. You are methodical and a careful record keeper, work well on your own initiative and can liaise confidently in person as well as via telephone/email. Well organised and efficient, you will be able to think on your feet and bring some creativity and energy to this position! 

Position Overview

The Sales/Service Administrator’s role involves working alongside people with varying positions within the business. You will check and format detailed technical quotes prepared by the Sales Team. You will be responsible for updating records/logs as appropriate and communicating key information to the relevant departments. Qualifying leads for the sales team is an important part of this role which will involve initial validation of incoming enquiries through email and telephone calls (no prior technical knowledge needed). You will liaise with our suppliers, continually updating our internal Price Lists and keeping records of quotes issued to CEM Solutions.

You will follow up on recommendations made to customers by the service team, preparing quotes and communicating these directly with the customer. You will use these quotes to place POs for service/repair items required. Another area of responsibility for this role is obtaining customer feedback with regards to our service provision, as well as feeding back information gathered about how we can better look after our customers to the relevant individuals within the company.

Ideally you have a creative and written flair – we would welcome input into marketing activities and website content to further drive people to our company.

Workshop Assistant
Full-time / £ 17,550

CEM Solutions are recruiting a Workshop Assistant to join the Production team at our base at Molyneux Business Park Darley Dale, nr. Matlock. We manufacture bespoke emission monitoring systems for a variety of industrial processes.

First and foremost, we are looking for a hard-working and enthusiastic individual who works on their own initiative. We want someone who can ‘see’ a job that needs doing and get on and do it! The Production team are busy and need an individual they can rely on to assist them with the task at hand.

You will be responsible for the general day-to-day running of the workshop. The role is varied – it will involve taking deliveries, booking goods in to stores and general housekeeping of both stores and the workshop itself. You will prepare goods for shipping – this may mean assembly of large wooden crates and the wrapping and labelling of goods.

You will make sure that tools and equipment are maintained and in order. You must have an eye for detail – stock levels need to be closely monitored and orders for shortages sent through to the Purchasing Team.

For the right individual there is scope within this role to be trained to carry out production tasks so this position would suit someone who has an interest in assembly, mechanics, wiring & fault finding.
